Job description:
Book-keepers, payroll managers and wages clerks maintain and balance records of financial transactions, oversee the operation of payroll functions and calculate hours worked, wages due and other relevant contributions and deductions.
Tasks required by this job include: (Job Responsibilities)
- Record financial transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain and update general ledger entries.
- Reconcile bank statements and financial records regularly.
- Manage accounts payable by processing invoices and scheduling payments.
- Handle accounts receivable, including generating invoices and tracking payments.
- Assist with payroll processing, ensuring compliance with tax and labour regulations.
- Prepare financial reports such as income statements and balance sheets.
- Support tax preparation efforts by organising financial documents and preparing schedules.
- Communicate with clients to address inquiries and resolve accounting-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with accountants and other team members within the firm.
- Perform administrative tasks to support the smooth operation of the firm.
Entry requirements of this job:
- There are no minimum academic requirements, although entrants typically possess GCSEs/S grades or equivalent qualifications, and maths may be required.
- Training is typically provided on-the-job. NVQs/SVQs in relevant areas are available, and apprenticeships may be available in some areas.
Salary: £32,000.00 to £39,000.00
